I dream of an Ethiopia where every young person understands that their circumstances may shape their beginning, but they do not have to determine their destination. I want to see a generation that is educated not only to find employment, but to think critically, create opportunities, build institutions, and take responsibility for the future of its country.
After years of teaching, mentoring, and watching young people discover their potential, I have come to believe that Ethiopia's greatest wealth is its people. Our greatest investment should therefore be in human capability in education that develops character, leadership that earns trust, entrepreneurship that creates opportunity, and a culture that encourages excellence rather than accepting mediocrity.
My dream is not simply for a richer Ethiopia. It is for a wiser, more confident, and more prosperous Ethiopia one where success is measured not only by what we accumulate individually, but by what we build for those who come after us. I believe the future is within our reach, if we have the courage to prepare for it, the discipline to build it, and the generosity to build it together.
